due by the end of July. Time is of the essence to accomplish the survey and other items to ensure costs <br />are covered. The grant will not cover the landscaping and proposed Welcome to Mooresville sign. <br />Councilman Cook asked about changes made from the original design, and it was explained that the <br />extent of the project was extended an additional block and a half from the original proposal to reach <br />Main Street. Jake Allen, the school representative on the RDC Commission, has looked at this and <br />approved the project but has not mentioned partnering with the Town on the project. Councilman Cook <br />asked if this could be delayed until the first meeting of July. Holding until then could prohibit the <br />successful completion of the grant application. Councilman Swinney made a motion to move forward. <br />Councilman Williams seconded. Motion carried 5-0 <br />Legal — <br />There were no comments. <br />Public Comments— <br />Rob Samuel came before the council to state his displeasure about passing an ordinance establishing a <br />K9 program and the stripping of Kevin Julian of his merit rank. <br />Rose Alan came before the council to voice her displeasure about the stripping of Kevin Jilian of his <br />merit rank and the misleading information posted on social media regarding a missing gun and ammo <br />shortage. <br />Approval of Claims — <br />Councilman Stanley motioned to approve claims for $2,771,850.44. Councilman Swinney seconded. <br />Motion carried 5-0 <br />Town Council Comments— <br />Councilman Williams addressed the K-9 question during public comments. He explained the K9 <br />ordinance to be voted on tonight did not match the public hearing notice. Another step was added to <br />the ordinance, which had to be advertised. <br />Councilman Stanley updated the council members that the Mooresville Redevelopment Commission has <br />approved to fund $150,000 for fencing at the police station to secure impound cars. <br />The next regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at 6:30 <br />P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br />With no further business to come before the council at this time, Councilman Stanley motioned to <br />adjourn with a second from Councilman Williams.
