Kevin Julian asked about new radars. <br />There was a lot of discussion and a motion was made by Councilman Rogers with a second by <br />Councilman Mathis to approve four cars, all the equipment, black and white and proceed with Muncie <br />on the four older cars, and no new radars at the present time. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Councilman Stanley reported on the Baby Box: <br />On Saturday, September 21, dine in at Applebee's and 20% of bill will go to the Baby Box Donations. The <br />money is almost there for the construction. <br />Legal: <br />Attorney Daniel reported the Indiana -American economic development agreement papers have been <br />signed and returned. A motion was made by Councilman Mathis with a second by Councilman Rogers to <br />approve the purchase agreement. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Department Head reports: Kevin Julian -Police Department <br />Have had three criminal events this month, one-third of the department worked the fire at <br />Featherston's home on High Street, and Kyle Vaughn begins as patrolman on September 30, 2019. <br />Three other officers will be going to the Academy. The hiring process has begun for hiring a police chief <br />and Brad Yarnell leaves his position in January of 2020. <br />Dave Moore -Street Superintendent: <br />David reported that the company called Inline has started lining sewer lines. The street workers are <br />finishing up Sweetwood Street stormwater and sidewalks. <br />Councilman Mathis reported the Park and Rec had closed on the 2.2 acres they purchased. <br />Public Comments: <br />Chris Hester thanked Randy Rogers for all the out of pocket work he has done for the police cars over <br />the years. <br />Bobby Brockenmeyer commented Delwood Drive was in need of streetlights. There are dark holes <br />everywhere and crime is in that area. The residents have been trying to get everyone to turn their porch <br />lights on. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Rogers with a second by Councilman Stanley to approve payment of <br />claims in the amount of $299,943.46. Motion carried 5-0. <br />There being no further business to come before the council at this time a motion was made by <br />Councilman Stanley with a second by Councilman Rogers to adjourn the meeting.
