Councilman Williams made a motion to <br />have the town attorney move forward in researching the best possible way for this to move <br />forward. Councilman Swinney seconded. Motion carried 4-0 <br />221 E Harrison St Sewer Adjustment- This property had a severe underground water leak and was given <br />a 98,000 -gallon adjustment by Indiana Water and the Sewer Dept. They are requesting an additional <br />sewer adjustment for water that did not go down the drain. Councilman Cook made a motion to <br />approve the adjustment by adjusting the charge to an amount equal to the average of 3 billing cycles. <br />Councilman Williams seconded. Motion Carried 4-0 <br />Event Coordinator - Regina Shelby came before the council to request the Town create an event <br />coordinator position to help facilitate events in the town and bring new events into the town. There was <br />some discussion as to how the town would go about creating a new position, including salary, and <br />insurance implications, the different functions of the possible position and funding sources that Regina <br />has compiled. Councilman Williams and Councilman Cook both voiced their appreciation for the work <br />that Regina has already done for Victorian Christmas. <br />Department Head Reports - <br />Chief Buckner said that this Saturday, December 10th is Christmas for Kids and he would <br />appreciate any volunteers that would like to assist with the program. Town Attorney Lee gave <br />him an update on the information for the body cam footage. <br />Dave Moore gave an update on the cemetery project as it is drawing toward completion. He <br />gave acknowledgment to Brenda Hines for her volunteer work and many hours of work <br />making sure things are ready to go live. <br />The final torch is being worked on and should be completed in the next few days. Councilman Swinney <br />asked for an update on a bridge, there was no update at this time. If the notification of the bridge repair <br />is made before the end of the year, it should be able to be fixed under the bridge tax that will soon be <br />going away. There was some discussion as to the proper procedure to notify the county of bridges that <br />need to be repaired. Councilman Swinney made a motion for Dave Moore to inspect the bridges in the <br />town and submit the list of needed repairs to the county. Councilman Williams seconded. Motion <br />carried 4-0 <br />Chief Dalton gave an update on the extrication equipment. The fire department is down one <br />firefighter due to retirement, but a conditional offer has been extended to a candidate. <br />Legal — None <br />Public Comments— None <br />Councilman Swinney motioned to approve claims in the amount of $1,044,030.12. Councilman <br />Williams seconded. Motion carried 4-0 <br />Councilman Swinney made the motion to approve the clearing of the payroll docket in the amount of <br />$4,817,495.68. Councilman Cook seconded. Motion carried 4-0 <br />Town Council Comments — <br />Councilman Williams announced that the Community Crossing Grant for the Monroe St. improvements <br />has been granted in the amount of $795,675, and the school has approved funding to continue the <br />lighting on Monroe St. <br />Council President Warthen exPained 1782 form from the State. The budget is up $616,000, and the tax <br />rate has decreased to $ 0.�47ier $100 assessed. The community assessed valuation has gone up <br />19.75%. He explained the budget as it stands. <br />The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be held on Tuesday, <br />December 20, 2022 at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br />There being no further business to come before the council at this time a motion to adjourn was made <br />by Councilman Williams with a second from Councilman Cook Motion Carried 4-0. <br />
