Councilman Cook mentioned that the Parks Department is listed on the HVAC project. Mr. Cornelius stated <br />he had received some quotes and system parameters that he would share with Dave Moore as they walk <br />through the bid proposal process. <br />Legal — <br />There were none. <br />Public Comments — <br />Bridget Morales from the Morgan County Substance Abuse Council came before the Town Council to <br />announce that the charterjust received the okto promote child abuse prevention during April. She wants <br />the Town to issue a proclamation recognizing April as Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month. There <br />will be an event on April 14, 2023, at the church across from the high school to raise awareness. She would <br />like to turn the Gateway torches blue in recognition. There was a consensus to move forward with this at <br />the first meeting in April. <br />Approval of Claims - <br />Councilman Swinney made the motion to approve claims in the amount of $766,410.64. Councilman <br />Brown seconded. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Approval of Payroll Clearing — <br />Councilman Swinney made the motion to approve payroll clearing in the amount of $198,495.03. <br />Councilman Brown seconded. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Town Council Comments — <br />Councilman Williams expressed his thanks to the police and fire personnel as well as the sheriff's office, <br />the school system, the school police department, and all of the others who participated in the code red <br />drill. <br />Councilman Swinney reiterated his support for John Russel Lambert Day and commented that it was a <br />big accomplishment to be 106. <br />The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be held on Tuesday, April 4, <br />2023 at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br />There being no further business to come before the council at this time a motion to adjourn was made <br />by Councilman Swinney with a second from Councilman Williams.
