Councilman Cook mentioned that the Parks Department is listed on the HVAC project. Mr. Cornelius stated he had received some quotes and system parameters that he would share with Dave Moore as they walk through the bid proposal process. Legal — There were none. Public Comments — Bridget Morales from the Morgan County Substance Abuse Council came before the Town Council to announce that the charterjust received the okto promote child abuse prevention during April. She wants the Town to issue a proclamation recognizing April as Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month. There will be an event on April 14, 2023, at the church across from the high school to raise awareness. She would like to turn the Gateway torches blue in recognition. There was a consensus to move forward with this at the first meeting in April. Approval of Claims - Councilman Swinney made the motion to approve claims in the amount of $766,410.64. Councilman Brown seconded. Motion carried 5-0. Approval of Payroll Clearing — Councilman Swinney made the motion to approve payroll clearing in the amount of $198,495.03. Councilman Brown seconded. Motion carried 5-0. Town Council Comments — Councilman Williams expressed his thanks to the police and fire personnel as well as the sheriff's office, the school system, the school police department, and all of the others who participated in the code red drill. Councilman Swinney reiterated his support for John Russel Lambert Day and commented that it was a big accomplishment to be 106. The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. There being no further business to come before the council at this time a motion to adjourn was made by Councilman Swinney with a second from Councilman Williams. Motion Carried 5-0.
