Proclamation Mental Health Month 2023- Council President Warthen read the proclamation declaring <br />May 2023 as Mental Health Awareness Month. <br />Councilman Brown made a motion to approve the proclamation. Councilman Swinney seconded. Motion <br />carried 4-0. <br />Cemetery Software Presentation - Julie Soplanda demonstrated the new cemetery software on the town <br />website. Ms. Soplanda also thanked Brenda Hunt for her priceless contribution of 481 volunteer hours. <br />Julie also expressed her gratitude to the council members for embracing the idea of digitally mapping the <br />cemetery. The Councilmembers voiced their appreciation and congratulations on a job well done. <br />Department Head Reports - <br />Chief Dalton revisited the possible surplus of one of the current staff vehicles. There was some discussion <br />about the best way to sell the vehicle, including the use of Municibid. Councilman Swinney made a motion <br />to move forward with the surplus of the 2014 Ford with 84K miles. Councilman Cook seconded the motion, <br />Motion carried 4-0. <br />Interim Wastewater Superintendent Calvin Boultbee gave an update on the lift station located atthe police <br />department. The lift station is in working condition. <br />Legal — <br />There were none. <br />Public Comments — <br />Danny Lundy thanked the council for the purchase of the cemetery software. <br />Approval of Claims - <br />Councilman Swinney made the motion to approve claims in the amount of $560,509.96. Councilman <br />Brown seconded. Motion carried 4-0 <br />Approval of Payroll Clearing - <br />Councilman Swinney made the motion to approve payroll clearing in the amount of $211,908.96. <br />Councilman Brown seconded. Motion carried 4-0 <br />The next regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 6:30 <br />P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br />There being no further business to come before the council at this time, a motion to adjourn was made <br />by Councilman Swinney, with a second from Councilman Brown.
