26 S -Indiana 5t, <br />Mooresville, IN 46158 <br />Lateral E'irefightt l' Proposal <br />Ef, Ft+ b t q 186 <br />Admin: 317-831-5354 <br />Fax: 317-831-9542 <br />Eligibility Requirements <br />• Currently employed by a career fire department for a minimum of one (1) year. <br />• Is a member of the 1977 Police Officers and Firefighters Pension fund. <br />• Valid Indiana driver's license, <br />• Valid State of Indiana Emergency Medical Technician certification or higher. <br />• Indiana Firefighter .1 and 2, Hazardous Materials Awareness/Ops,.ICS 100/.20Q/700/800' <br />shall not have been convicted of a felony. <br />• Shall have a current and valid CPAT card or department V✓PE, issue date within a year of the date of <br />hire. <br />• All lateral offers will.go through the physical and psych portions of PERF for ow records.. If failed, <br />then we withdrawal the offer and it does not affect their current employment, <br />Transfer Credits <br />• Salary — Lateral hires will be started at the Firefighters base pay ($208.6.07 per pay). <br />•Longevity Pay —Lateral hires will be credited one (1) year. each previous one (1) year of service <br />on a 1977 fund career department. Must complete a full year on the Mooresville Fire Department <br />before being eligible to receive longevity pay. <br />• Vacation Days — Lateral lures shall receive forty (40) hours of vacation time .ort thedate hire and an <br />additional forty (40) hours after six (6) months of employment. On the following January 1 from <br />their one-year anniversary date, the vacation time shall then accrue pursuant to the schedule set forth <br />in the Town of Mooresville's Personnel Policy Handbook Section (8,3), <br />a Sick Days — Lateral hires shall receive forty (40),lours of Sick time on the date hire and an <br />additional forty .(40) hours after six (6) months of employment, After the first year, employees shall <br />earn eighty (80) hours of credited sick leave time on January 1 each year after accruing. twelve (12) <br />months of employment. <br />• I3oliday Time — Lateral hires will be credited the remaining town approved holidays. from the date <br />of hire.. <br />• seniority — Prior years of 'service will not transfer as it pertains to department seniority or bid <br />seniority, for vacation time. <br />• Certifications — Valid fire certifications will transfer and remain the individual's responsibility to <br />maintain. <br />• Probationary Status —In terms of the introductory period of employment for discipline and related <br />polices, employees are probationary status for (1) year regardless of qualifying for advanced <br />benefits. <br />
