MOORESVILLE REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION MINUTES <br />Thursday, <br />Thursday, February 1, 2024 6:OOpm <br />Mooresville Government Center <br />Commission Members present: Brian Culp, Greg Swinney, Ryan Taylor and Dana Heidenreich were <br />present. Erin Pipkin was absent. School representative Dr. Jake Allen was present. Project Manager <br />Chelsey Manns was present. Redevelopment Commission Attorney Adam Steuerwald was present. <br />Commissioner Taylor called the meeting to order and followed with an invocation from Commissioner <br />Culp. <br />Commissioner Taylor welcomed the newest member, Commissioner Greg Swinney. <br />Minutes: Minutes were presented from the January 4, 2024 public meeting. Dr. Allen stated he was in <br />fact in attendance. Commissioner Culp made the motion to approve minutes with the change to Dr. <br />Allen's attendance. Commissioner Heidenreich seconded the motion, which carried 4-0-1 (Swinney). <br />Financials: Financials were provided by the Clerk -Treasurer's office via email. Commissioner Culp made <br />the motion to approve the financials as presented. Commissioner Heidenreich seconded the motion, <br />which carried 4-0. <br />New Business: <br />Opening of Bids —SR67/Merriman Road —Two bids were received for the construction of the new <br />signal at SR67 and Merriman Road: <br />® Midwestern Electric, Inc. -$437,000 <br />® Murphey Construction, Inc -$355,000 <br />Commissioner Culp made the motion to take the bids under advisement. Commissioner Heidenreich <br />seconded the motion, which carried 4-0. <br />Eclipse Portable Restroom Request— Regina Shelby with Mooresville 200 presented a request for <br />financial assistance in the amount of $13,098.75 for portable restroom rentals for the eclipse festival. <br />After some discussion by the commissioners, Attorney Steuerwald shared the Commission can only <br />participate in capital expenses. Portable restroom rentals is not in the purview of the Commission and <br />they cannot pay for them. Commissioner Heidenreich asked if the Commission could give the money to <br />
