The project is designed <br />to complement the town's pending Main Street improvement project. <br />Councilman Cook motioned that the town be the grant recipient, seconded by Councilman Swinny. <br />The motion carried 5-0. <br />Town Attorney Chou -it Lee requested a motion on the topic of the executive session to determine <br />whether to send the letter. <br />Councilman Cook motioned not to send the letter, seconded by Councilman Brown. Motion <br />carried 5-0. <br />Public Comments: <br />Jim Taylor, with the 2001h executive committee, attended the council meeting to provide an update <br />on the Eclipse weekend. Weather conditions impacted attendance levels on Saturday and Sunday; <br />however, there was a high attendance rate on Monday at the downtown street fair. The Mooresville <br />Parks Department hosted a concert, food trucks, a bounce house, and various activities for <br />children. Mr. Taylor expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by town employees during the <br />event and extended appreciation for the town's monetary contribution. <br />Motion for Approval of Claims: <br />Councilman Swinney motioned to approve claims for $859,584.92. Councilman Brown seconded. <br />The motion carried 5-0. <br />Motion for Approval of Payroll Clearing: <br />Councilman Swinney motioned to approve payroll clearing for $213,488,38, seconded by <br />Councilman Brown. The motion carried 5-0. <br />Town Council Comments: <br />The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be held on Tuesday, May <br />21, 2024. <br />With no further business before the council, Councilman Brown motioned to adjourn, which <br />Councilman Swinney seconded.
