1 4 <br />May 7, 2024 <br />The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 6:30 P. M. at the <br />Mooresville Government Center. <br />Council members present were Council President Tom Warthen, Councilman Greg Swinney, <br />Councilman Jeff Cook, and Councilman Kirk Witt. Councilman Josh Brown was absent, and Town <br />Attorney Chou -it Lee was present. <br />Council President Warthen gave the invocation and called the meeting to order. — <br />Councilman Swinney motioned to approve the minutes of the April 16, 2024, Executive Session, <br />seconded by Councilman Witt. Motion Carried 4-0. <br />Councilman Swinney motioned to approve the April 16, 2024, meeting minutes. Seconded by <br />Councilman Witt. Motion Carried 4-0. <br />Council President Warthen addressed the complaints related to the odor issue and committed to <br />identifying the root cause of the problem. <br />Unfinished Business— <br />Sun Polymers International Inc CF -1 Real Property - At the time of the abatement request, the <br />investment estimate was $1,500,000.00, and the actual investment was $1,646,307.00. The <br />estimated employment number was 29, and the current actual employment number is 39. <br />Councilman Swinney motioned to find Sun Polymers in substantial compliance with Resolution <br />15-2018. Councilman Witt seconded. The motion carried 4-0. <br />Creative Foam Corp. CF -1 for real and personal property was put on hold until the next meeting, <br />May 21st. <br />Chief Dalton presented repair estimates for a vehicle donated to the fire department by the <br />Department of Natural Resources. The estimates received are higher than the vehicle's current <br />worth, so he requests that the car be declared surplus. <br />Councilman Swinney made a motion to move forward with Resolution 6-2024, Councilman Witt <br />seconded. Motion carried 4-0. <br />Councilman Swinney motioned to suspend the rules for approving Salary Ordinance 2-2024. <br />Councilman Witt seconded. Motion carried 4-0. <br />Councilman Swinney motioned to approve the amendment to Ordinance 2-2024. Councilman Witt <br />seconded. The motion carried 4-0. <br />
