5.1.1.3. Phase 3 — Previous Option 3 (kind of) —this is a full switch to an FBI building, <br />constructing the building including: OH, door install, plumbing stubbed up where needed, and <br />a concrete slab poured. <br />5.1.2 Upon motion by Brent Callahan, to approve Phase 1 for Scope of Work. B. Callahan withdrew <br />the motion after discussion. <br />5.1.3 Upon motion by Mark Taylor, seconded by BJ Bungard the board voted 7/0 to approve Phase <br />#1 Scope of Work and Phase #2 with a not to exceed of 4.3M. <br />6. NEW BUSINESS <br />6.1 Talesha Freidenfelt was introduced to the Park Board. Talesha is the new Recreation <br />Coordinator of Mooresville Parks. <br />6.2 The Town Council held a public hearing on July 2, which kicked off the process of annexing <br />the properties. All five properties that were identified will be annexed into the Town by July <br />16 at the earliest or by August 6 at the latest. The Council must wait 14 days before they <br />can take action and a maximum of 45 days to complete the process. <br />6.2.1 Upon motion by Brent Callahan, seconded by BJ Bungard, the board voted 7/0 to <br />approve Board President Matt Saner's signing of the annexation paperwork on behalf of <br />the Park Board. Vice President Mark Taylor can sign the annexation paperwork if the <br />Board President is unavailable. <br />6.3 Pioneer Park experienced significant vandalism on June 28th, resulting in the destruction of <br />one of the main entrance signs. The replacement costs for the sign are as follows: $7,366.50 <br />to replace it "as it was', and $10,216.50 to strengthen the sign. The insurance claim has <br />been submitted and approved with a $5,000 deductible. The initial approval from the <br />insurance company is for the replacement cost at $7,366.50. The board has discussed the <br />project and made a decision on our next steps. <br />6.3.1 Upon motion by Danny Lundy and seconded by Lynn Adams, the board voted 7/0 to <br />replace the sign "as it was" with the installation will be at the discretion of <br />Superintendent Philip Cornelius. <br />P111TUTGETUIR <br />7. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />7.1 Assistant Superintendent Report <br />7.1.1 RECU Registration kicked off on Monday, June 24th, about a week earlier than usual. We <br />have 195 kids registered in the program right now. We served around 330 students <br />weekly last year, so we're about 53% of what we were at the end of the year. <br />Registration will continue until school starts, and we will see an uptick in registrations in <br />the next couple of weeks. RECU will begin again on the first day of school, Monday, <br />August 5th. <br />
