Legal— <br />Haley Sears stated legal is still waiting for a response from AT&T regarding the contract. <br />Public Comments — <br />A gentleman in the audience asked where he could locate a copy of the 2025 budget. Councilman <br />Warthen responded that this information can be found on Gateway. <br />Motion to Approve Claims - <br />Councilman Swinney made the motion to approve claims for $655,080.62. Councilman Brown <br />seconded. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Councilman Swinney made the motion to approve payroll clearing for $238,195.85. Councilman <br />Brown seconded. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Town Council Comments — <br />Council President Warthen requested the Cterk-Treasurer's assistance writing a job description for <br />the Department of Public Works Superintendent to initiate the hiring process. <br />Councilman Brown inquired whether the comp time payout policy should be revisited. There was <br />some discussion, with Councilman Cook suggesting that the number of hours earned and banked <br />should remain unchanged. Councilman Brown clarified the need to focus on reducing the number <br />of hours allowed to roll overto the next calendar year and proposed looking at the number of hours <br />that should be paid out within the year time was earned. <br />The next regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Councitwitl be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, <br />at 6:30 p.m. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br />With no further business to come before the council at this time, Councilman Brown made a <br />motion to adjourn, which Councilman Swinney seconded.
