Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mr. Phil Smith, representing Mundy Realty, Inc., a subsidiary of Marsh <br />Supermarkets, appeared before the Commission requesting a P.U.D. - C for the <br /> <br />property located at State Road 67 and State Road 144. Mr. Smith advised the <br /> <br />Commission that the proposed useage of this planned unit developnent would be <br /> <br />for a supermarket, a Village Pantry and a fast food restaurant. <br /> <br />Mr. Kenneth Thompson, 1216 Driftwood Court appeared before the Commission <br /> <br />to voice his concern in regard to the amount of money developers have spent <br /> <br />to develop property which is already zoned commercial. Mr. Thompson also stated <br /> <br />he is concerned about the traffic this developnent will generate in a school <br /> <br />zone, and he would be interested to know the length of time it will take for <br />the improvements to State Road 144. <br /> <br />Mr. Don Fisher of Melton Packard advised the Commission that there are no <br /> <br />'--- <br /> <br />plans to close State Road 144 for the improvements. <br />Mr. Don Mayhey, 15 Lambert Court addressed the Conrnission in regard to <br />his concerns of the environment which will be created by a development of this <br /> <br />nature at this very visable intersection. <br /> <br />Mr. John Swisher, 1235 Ironwood Drive, stated that the Town of Mooresville <br /> <br />has a comprehensive plan which has set out designated parcels of land for this <br /> <br />type of useage and we should adhere to the existing plan and asked the Plan <br /> <br />Commission to deny this zoning petition. <br /> <br />Commission President Tucker informed those present that the parcel being <br />~ <br />discussed is =rently zoned B-;t. <br /> <br />Mr. Charles McGuire stated he sees no advantage to the Town in getting <br /> <br />a 32,000 square foot grocery store. <br /> <br />-./ <br /> <br />2 <br />
