Swisher April 26, 1993 Erl'cuIÙ'cDirC'cfor Mr. Robert Tucker President Town of Mooresville Planning Commission 26 South Indiana street Mooresville, IN 46158 Dear Mr. Tucker: - This correspondence is written as a result of a request by Mundy Realty, Inc. for the rezoning of 12.7 acres on the northeast corner of State Road l44 and State Road 67 in Mooresville from B-2 to B-3. We understand the Planning Commission deliberated this request on April 22nd and elected to defer further consideration until April 29th. As a major holder of real estate in the adjacent area and interested in not only it's impact on the hospital, but the area in general, the hospital board in it's meeting on April 22nd also deliberated the request and concluded as follows: l) without question, the increased traffic in the general vicinity of State Road l44 and State Road 67 continues to be a problem that I know concerns public officials and residents as well of this community. We see the situation becoming more aggravated in the future unless strong and thoughtful local guidance is provided in terms of development. We have reviewed the proposed traffic signal additions as well as the widening of l44 to accommodate the anticipated increase in traffic volumes that would undoubtedly result with the rezoning, and are skeptical that this would be nothing more than at best a short term solution to a long term problem. 2) For some time the long term land use of this community was debated and discussed with culmination in a comprehensive Plan that was completed just a few short years ago. It seems to us that unless significant changes have developed in the thought process and/or some need has since become apparent ~, /20/ Hadley Road.
