<br />; <br /> <br />Attorney Richard Wood came before the Mooresville Plan Commission <br /> <br />---- <br />to represent Leonard and Opal Deckard for a request to rezone 9.63 <br /> <br /> <br />acres on South 67, from B-3 to 1-2. <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Wood passed out a layout of the area for the members to <br /> <br /> <br />review. <br /> <br /> <br />Member Charles McGuire pointed out that an 1-2 zoning classification <br /> <br /> <br />would allow junk yards in this area. (Page 31 in Zoning Ordinance) <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Wood explained that Mr. Deckard planned to sell off this <br /> <br /> <br />land in the future and allow the buyers to make their own use of the <br /> <br /> <br />land. <br /> <br />Member Bill Abbott pointed out that the 1-2 zoning classification <br /> <br /> <br />was consistent with the other zoning classifications in this area. <br /> <br /> <br />Motion was made by Bob Tucker to approve the request because <br /> <br /> <br />it was found to be consistent with the master plan. A second was <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />made by Vern Kimmel. Motion passed 5 - 2, with Welker and McGuire <br /> <br /> <br />opposing. <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Ross Holloway, Surveyor, and Mr. Jim Henry came before the <br /> <br /> <br />Plan Commission with a proposed plat for the members to review. <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Holloway explained that they did not have everything they needed <br /> <br /> <br />with them, but wanted to see how the Board felt about their proposed <br /> <br /> <br />plans. <br /> <br /> <br />The Board reviewed and discussed the plat, and some members <br /> <br /> <br />had comments about the proposed plans. <br /> <br /> <br />OLD BUSINESS <br /> <br /> <br />Plan Commission attorney, Timothy C. Currens reported to the <br /> <br /> <br />members that a letter had been sent to the Mooresville Board of <br /> <br /> <br />Zoning Appeals from Mr. Charles Gunnel in regard to Mooresville <br /> <br />'--' <br />Block being in violation of the petition which they were granted <br /> <br />6 <br />
