separate items. Bob Tucker also had a question concerning page 28

'--

and the intersection of South Street and High Street. Randy

Haymaker advised that this reference was to the section of High

Street and South Street near the Old Town Park and Children's Park

Daycare. For clarification purposes the Commission decided to

. H
change the reference to read from -the railroad east to High

Street". The Board discussed this and felt

that sidewalks were desirable in all areas adjacent to residential

and business areas. Signe Nicholson stated that she would like to

see a reference in the plan towards limiting the number of

intersections off State Road 67 for traffic control purposes.

Bill Abbott stated that since this is a limited access highway

that the State Highway Department would limit the number of

'---

intersections. He also stated that access roads to existing

intersections would be the logical way to deal with this problem.

Signe also stated that she felt the Plan needed a time horizon and

a stated time period to review the ordinance. Bill Abbott stated

it might be better to make a statement concerning the pace of

development being geared towards the ability of the Town to

provide and plan for appropriate services. William Abbott then

made a motion that we approve the plan as amended and set a public

hearing. This was seconded by Steve Edwards and unanimously

carried. A motion was then made by Robert Tucker to hold the

public hearing on May 24, 1990 at the high school auditorium or

other available facility. This was seconded by Dave Barry and

unanimously carried.

'--
