Clay Street stated that she likes the owners of the <br />property but does not want a business use getting any closer to <br />her residential use. Larry Cecil of 60 E. South Street stated <br />that he had lived in the area for forty years and felt that it has <br />always been residential and should stay residential. He stated <br />that Mr. Benge had had other businesses in town and that he left <br />them a mess. He went on to state that the business use did not <br />help residential property values. <br />Linda Daugherty of 14 E. South Street stated that she was <br />against this, especially since the full lot would be rezoned. <br />Margaret Jones who lives at the corner of S. Clay and E. South <br />Street stated she was against this. Horace Adams of 35 E. South <br />Street stated that he had lived in the area since 1950 and watched <br />several business encroachments upon the residential use In this <br />area. Mr. Adams specifically mentioned the beauty shop which is <br />near his property and that at the time Jim Vinton rezoned that <br />property was assured that this would be the extent of business <br />encroachment upon South Street by this Board. He stated that it <br />was not proper to have the residential and business use on this <br />lot, and the Board assured him that if the property was totally <br />rezoned that there was a problem continuing the residential use. <br /> <br /> <br />Dan Miller of 63 South Street spoke. Mr. Miller had ques- <br /> <br /> <br />tions of the type of volume the business would create and traffic <br /> <br /> <br />implications. Mr. Binge stated that he planned to use the drive <br /> <br /> <br />for access and parking which should not create a whole lot of <br /> <br /> <br />traffic nor parking problems. <br /> <br />-2- <br />
