'--

.

MINUTES OF THE MOORESVILLE PLAN COMl'IISSION

The Mooresville Plan Commission met at its regularly scheduled session

on the 24th day of April, 1986 at the Mooresville Town Hall. Present were

Board Members Steve Edwards, William Abbott, Ron Alexander, Tilford Bailey,

Dave Barry, and Wendell Thaler and Building Inspector Joe Beikman. Standing

in for Board Attorney, Timothy C. Currens, was Michael A. Ksenak. Chairman

Edwards determined that there was a quorum present and proceeded to approve

the minutes of the last meeting.

Chairman Edwards finding that there was no business from the floor and

also finding that the representatives from Cloverleaf had not yet arrived,

he proceeded to old business. The Board questioned Attorney Ksenak regarding

the unsafe building violation located at 8 North Indiana Street. Attorney Ksenak

advised that Attorney Currens had been contacted by the owners and had requested

Inspector Beikman to prepare a list of the violations which would then be corrected.

The Board then questioned concerning the status of the Manning property to confirm

that the Mannings were not operating a business out of the premises. It was

believed that the Mannings had applied for a variance with the Board of Zoning

Appeals and Inspector Beikman indicated that there was presently no business

activity on the premises.

Inspector Beikman indicated that last month 13 permits were issued and

22 inspections performed.

Chairman Edwards moved on to new business on the arrival of George Smith,

representing the engineering firm responsible for the preliminary plat. Mr.

Smith passed out copies of the preliminary plat for the Board's perusal. The

Board noted that the preliminary plat showed the 100 year flood line at 663.1 feet

and Bill Abbott was of the opinion and belief that the flood line was actually

'-~ at 667.5 feet. The Board determined that the proper elevation must be ascertained

'-

,

since if the flood line is actually at 667.5 feet then the present plat shows the

construction being performed well below the flood line elevation.
