Present were Board Members Steve

Edwards, Bill Abbott, Tilford Bai.ley, Wendell Thaler, Dave Barry, Vernon Kimm"l

and Building Inspector Jo" Beikman. Standing in for Board Attorney, Timothy C.

Currens, was Michael A. Ksenak. Chairman Edwaròs determined that there was a

quorum present and proceeded to approve the minutes of the last meeting.

Chairman Edwards proceeded to new business and the petition of William

and Patricia Overholser to rezone property located at 280, 302, 302~ and 310

E. South Street from its present classification of single family residence to

that of Local Business. Mr. Overholser indicate~d that the purpose of the petition

was to rezone the areas of land in question to allow them to expand the day care

cRnter which is presently in operation. He indicated that at present their

intentions were to constrl1ct a 42' X 28' addition to house a kitchen and additional

classro0m. He felt the day care center as it presently exists is an i.mprovement

to the area and that he and his wife would do nothing to degrade this property

or the surrounding properties. In fact, he advised that they have received a

Chamber of Commerce award for the last few years. Mr. Overholser further indicated

that he was aware that if he sold the property that it could be used for any other

business allowed under the local business classification but informed the Board

that it was not their intentions to sell this property. Mr. Overholser inn ica ter1
that while they were asking for all four lots to be rezoned, that at present, they
only intend to bl1ild on 302 and 302~ E. South Street.

Finding no remonstrators present, Chairman Edwards indjcated that in

his opinion, he believed that this w01dd Dot affect the Master Plan in any way

except for the better. Wendell Thaler moved to grant the petition for rezoning.

The moti.on was seconded by Vernotl KiĆmel and was unanimoU<:ìly carried.
