The Board then discussed the proposed landfill of Marion County. Bud Swisher advised that since the proposed area drains into the east fork of White River, this could have an effect on Pioneer Park, the sewer plant, and many other areas of the Town. Attorney Currens advised that this could affect our Master Plan use and also affects the public health and safety of the community. Bud Swisher also pointed out that at the meeting at Decatur on Wednesday, January 23, 1985, the geological expert, Mr. West, pointed out the improprieties of a landfill in this area. The Board then proceeded to open up the meeting for suggestions. Bud Swisher made a motion that the Plan Commission recommend to the Mooresville Town Board of Trustees that they oppose any landfill in this area due to the affect it would have on the Mooresville area Master Plan and potential health and safety problems to the community. This was seconded by Stephen Edwards and unanimously carried. Building Inspector Joe Beikman then gave his report for the month which included 12 inspections and I permit. He also advised that he was re- quiring the Christian Church to put in a 6 inch concrete curb on the parking lot which adjoins a city sidewalk pursuant to the ordinance.
