The Board advised the petitioner and the remonstrators present that the only purpose of the meeting tonight was to determine whether the rezoning should be approved and not to approve any specific type of dwelling to be constructed on the premises. Mr. George Clark of 871 Westbrook inquired as to how many stories the proposed structure would have and Mr. Hardcastle advised that it would be a one story dwelling. Leslie Fleenor of 10 Williams Drive advised that he would rather have a double than a multi-family dwelling on that property. Mr. Robert Scaggs of II Williams Drive advised that he was against the petition. Mr. Clark indicated that he bought this property here 29 years ago because it was zoned as single family dwelling and that the reason he had left Indianapolis was because multi-family units were being allowed in a single family dwelling area. Martha Fishel indicated that she was an adjoining property owner and did not believe that the requested development would devaluate the property in the area. She advised that there are business uses presently carried on in the area. Steve Edwards advised the Board that there were at least 3 other doubles within one block of this property. The Board again advised the remonstrators present that the only issue before the Board was whether the rezoning would be granted and that it was up to the petitioners and the Building Inspector to make sure that the other requirements of the ordinance were met. The Board advised that they had no control over what type of multi-family structure was constructed once the zoning was passed. No further questions forthcoming, Bill Abbott moved to recommend to the Town Board the approval of the proposed rezoning. The motion was seconded by Steve Edwards and unanimously carried.
