'-

----

'--

-4-

a decision at the last meeting that it should proceed to file suit against

Mr. Graybill if he had not in fact completed securing that building by this

meeting. Bill Abbott moved to have the Board Attorney to file an appropriate

law suit against Mr. Graybill. The motion was seconded by Helen Knight and

unanimously carried.

Bill Abbott requested information concerning fire traps and stated that

there is a house on the northeast corner of Maple Lane and Carlisle which is in

an exceedingly bad shape and inquired as to whether the Board had authority to

inspect for fire hazard violations. Attorney Ksenak indicated that he would

check with the State Fire Marshall and the statute to determine if there is any

authority given to the Town to inspect for fire hazards and would inform Joe

Beikman of his findings so that some action can be taken by Mr. Beikman in that

regard prior to the next meeting.

Ron Alexander raised a problem with the Bowman property on the northeast

corner of North Indiana and West Washington Street, that problem being overhanging

trees and overgrown bushes covering the sidewalk which requires pedestrians to

walk in the street. He asked Steve Edwards to draft a letter on behalf of the

Street Department to have the problem corrected.

Vernon Kimmel had a question concerning the Lorin Turpin property and

indicated that there were two or three old vehicles on the property, which in

his opinion, were nothing but junk and wondered if the Town could have the

vehicles towed. It was also mentioned that there was considerable trash on

that yard which should also be hauled away and the question was raised as to

whether there was an ordinance or state statute which allowed for the Town to

take some affirmative action to have the junk cars and trash removed from the

property. The Board asked the attorney to check into these matters.

Inspector Beikman arrived at the meeting and informed the Board that

7 permits were issued and 15 inspections performed.
