<br />MOORESVILLE PLAN COMMISSION <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />The Mooresville Plan Co~ission met in regular session on <br />March 25, 1976, at 7:30 P.M. Members in attendance were: Robert <br />~'. Farmer, Steve Edwards, Rebecca Hardin, Tilford Bailey, Lewis <br />Truax, William Abbott and Eweather Stephens. Also in attendance <br />were Charles Bain, Town Building Inspector and David E. Lawson, <br />Attorney for the Commission. <br /> <br />First on the agenda of new business was a complaint by Mr. <br />Harvie Richer of W. Harrison Street that on lot 15 of Samuel Moore's <br />first addition, the first house west of the Fire station,a repair <br />shop for Volkswagens had been operating in a two car garage. This <br />is in violation of the zoning ordinance for residential areas. <br />Attorney Lawson was directed to send out an order of "cease & desist~ <br />to the operator of the shop who rents from John Weisner, owner of <br />said property, or to appear before the Plan Commission. <br /> <br />Appearing next were Dr. and Mrs. James Sterrett of 124 N. Indiana <br />Street, asking for a review of the zoning variance granted to the <br />property at 130 North Indiana Street (the old Kendrick Hospital) <br />for possible viola~19ns. Records indicate petition to the Board <br />of Zoning Appeals~ fbr apartments upstairs in the structure and <br />offices in the downstairs was granted with the provision that each <br />apartment should contain 900 r..1 square feet of space. A complete <br />investigation of operations at the 130 North Indiana address ~. ~ is to I <br />conducted and a report made at the next meeting. <br /> <br />Emmet E. Hancock, Manager of the Wake-Up station, at East Main <br />Street and Indianapolis Road appeared to ask permission to park a <br />camper-trailer, to be used as his living quarters, behind the <br />station. His Company has agreed to the arrangement if the Plan <br />Commission grants approval, as his presence is required frequently <br />to the operation of the business. <br /> <br />'--' <br /> <br />Attorney Lawson advised Mr. Hancock of the necessity,under the <br />law/to file a petition with the Board of Zoning Appeals for a variance <br />to an ordinance that prohibits trailers within the Town limits. <br /> <br />New business having been covered, the minutes from previous <br />meetings were read and approved as read. <br /> <br />A report from the Technical Committee indicated that an <br />application from Mr. Harmon Allison of 107 Morgan Street ~~~ to <br />build a carport was denied as it did not meet requirements of <br />the zoning requirements. Mr. Allison is being referred to the <br />Board of Zoning Appeals to seek a variance. <br /> <br />In reviewing an application for a doghouse meaBuring 10' X <br />6', submitted by Dr. Sou~hers at 30 West Street, the Technical <br />Committee was asked to Investigate for possible violations before <br />submitting the application to the building inspector for action. <br /> <br />\~ <br />
