<br />MOORESVlLLE BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br />THURSDAY JUNE 9, 2005 <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />The Mooresville Board of Zoning Appeals met on Thursday, June 9, 2005 at <br />6:00 P.M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br />Members present were: Jon Swisher, Chairman, Don Barry, Mike Young, <br />Charles McGuire and Alan Kramer. Town Attorney, Tim Currens, was <br />present. <br /> <br />Motion to approve the minutes for May 12,2005 was made by Don Barry, <br />second by Alan Kramer. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />Hoosier Energy petition was moved to the Plan Commission meeting and <br />will be heard on July 14, 2005 and new notices will be sent. <br /> <br />Next was Steve Huffman of Thompson Thrift Development, Fields St., <br />requesting a variance for a sign for Lot lA and lB in the Fields PUD was <br />continued from the May 12,2005 meeting. Mr. Huffman stated they were <br />going to build a Sherman Williams store on Lot lB. He stated first they were <br />asking for a variance for a sign two signs that will be 40' by 30'. Next since <br />the lot was subdivided and they are sharing the lot with the Dairy Queen <br />they would like to install a monument sign in the setback area for the <br />building. They would like to set the sign in the tree line on Bridge Street. <br />They will put the sign where ever the board would like to see the sign put. <br />Mr. Swisher asked if the sign was illuminated and Mr. Huffman said both <br />sides would be. Mr. McGuire said that they would need to go out and get <br />some sight views before they make their decision. Mr. Young asked if the <br />Lowe's lights were to go off at 10:00 PM and Mr. Huffman said their hours <br />of operation were from 10 to 10 and they could turn the signs off at 10:00 <br />PM. Mr. Kramer said he felt that two board members should go out and <br />check out the site to determine the best place for the sign and report back at <br />the next meeting. Mr. Currens said that Mr. Beikman should be put on the <br />committee as he is the building inspector. <br /> <br />Mr. Larry Tooley, 411 Conduit Drive, said they did not want another sign. <br />He said there was a large sign at the comer of Bridge St. and State Road 67 <br />with Lowe's sign on it and there was enough space below that sign to put <br />
