MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF METROPOLITAN POLICE COMMISSIONERS <br /> MAY 27, 1997 <br /> <br /> The Town of Mooresville Board of Metropolitan Police Commissioners <br />met at its scheduled meeting May 27, 1997 with Board Members Tom <br />Warthen, Dr. Richard Soughers and Dr. Dennis Knierim being present <br />along with the Board's Council, Timothy C. Currens. The meeting was <br />called to order by Tom Warthen. The Board proceeded to the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br /> Chief Viles presented the proposed advertised budget for Mooresville <br />Police Department, noting that corrections had been added on two line <br />items. Legal Council advised that a notation should be ~nade explaining <br />that the bottom line amount excludes the Chief's salary, which will be <br />added by the Town Council. , <br /> <br /> Procedures on filling the proposed ne~ positions was discussed. <br /> No action will be taken until final budget approval. <br /> The Board approved the minutes of the prior two meetings. <br /> Chief Viles explained the Field Training Officer program that he <br /> will be inacting. This will be a twelve week course that all new hires <br /> will go through, and he has already sent two Officers through training <br /> with I.P.D. to qualify incorporating the program. <br /> The Commission scheduled June 8 and June 9 to interview the last <br /> six candidates for the open patrolman's position. <br /> There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />
