MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF METROPOLITAN POLICE COMMISSIONERS <br /> MARCH 19, 1998 <br /> <br /> The Town of Mooresville Board of Metropolitan Police <br />Commissioners met March 19, 1998 with Board members Dr. <br />Dennnis Knierim, Torn Warthen and John Burnside being present <br />along with legal council Timothy C. Currens. The meeting was <br />preceded with the pledge of allegiance, then called to order <br />by Dr. Dennis Knierim. <br /> <br /> Dr. Knierim requested correction of the minutes of the <br /> <br />last meeting, that being the date of the current meeting to <br />show the 19th instead of the 16th. Tom Warthen made motion <br />and was seconded by John Burnside to approve the minutes, so <br /> <br />corrected. <br /> <br /> Under Old Business. Chief Viles gave an update on the new <br />officers. Collins is to graduate from ILEA on March 27th. The <br />other' two officers are moving along quite well. Kevin Julian <br />will begin the Academy on April 6th. <br /> <br /> Tim Cu~'rens advised that the bill pertaining to retirement <br /> is on the Governors desk, he has not recieved verification of <br /> it being signed )'et, but all indications are that the bill <br /> will pass. <br /> <br /> Tom Wa~then inquired on the status of Par-king, Weight, <br /> 1968, large Vehicle Ordinances. Tim Currens advised they are <br /> being looked at by the Town Council. Tom Wa~'then inquired if <br /> the Police Department should proceed ora enfot-cement of the <br /> Refuse Ordinance. Tim Currens advised that he does not set <br /> policy, and can oral>' x-ed*i fy that we have the oridinance. <br /> <br /> <br />
