MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF METROPOLITAN POLICE COMMISSIONERS <br /> OCTOBER 21, 1999 <br /> <br /> The Town of Mooresvdle Board of Metropolitan Police Commissioners meeting on October <br /> <br /> 21, 1999 was called to order by Dr. Dennis Knierim. Also present was Dean Kays and Charles <br /> Berwiclc <br /> <br /> The September minutes were approved as presented <br /> <br /> Under Old Business: <br /> <br /> Tabled from the last meeting was a letter from Danny Davis requesting to be included in <br /> <br /> the already on going process. After discussion, the Board denied the request by unanimous <br /> <br />decision, and invited Mr. Davis to apply when the next hiring process begins. <br /> Under New Business: <br /> <br /> Police Chief Tim Vdes advised the department had recieved three letters of appreciation <br /> <br />on the following Officers: <br /> <br /> John Forbes recieved a thank you for assisting disabled motorist Betty Need <br /> Bdl Snyder was thanked for an outstanding job on an U.S. Postal case from the victum, <br /> whom resides in Iowa. <br /> Judge Sterrett thanked John Forbes for his excellent job and involvement with his <br />committee of Government Council on Teenage Driving. <br /> <br /> Chief Vales also gave an update on Community Policing, advising he has contacted <br /> <br />the Senior Center to arrange for an Adult Protection Seminar, and also an Adult Fraud <br />Seminar. The Womens Protection Seminar has been set for sometime in February, the topic <br />being Domestic Violence. <br /> <br /> Matt Williams will be out of the Academy at the end of November. His and Randy <br /> <br />Rogers probation period will end on October 30th, and the Board recommended that <br /> <br />both Officers be taken off probation. <br /> <br /> An Executive Meeting was scheduled for November 4th at 7:00 PM at the Police Depart- <br />ment to go over the background checks with Sgt. Allen. Interviews will be November l l th, <br /> <br /> <br />
