He also addressed the manpower situation, stating he feb that anything less than three officers <br />on duty per shift was unacceptable. He felt that some policies may have to change, such as the <br />Lieutenant's having weekends off and the scheduling of holidays and personal days off. He feels <br />that vehicle maintenace should be done on the Officer's days off, which would eliminate being <br />out of service during thier shift. <br /> <br /> ,4nother concern was that of salaries, stating that he feels as long as Police & Fire employees <br />are lumped together with the other Town employees, the salaries will not be competit~ve enough <br />to hire and maintain the departmenL Salaries are now 14 - 19 % below those of surrounding <br />communities. Charles Berwick suggested looking into having Licensed pay, since they are <br />licensed by the State. Hazard pay and a third shift bonus was also mentioned <br /> <br /> Chief I~iles advised that Dispatcher Amy Jongi~nd will be leaving th~s monti~ with part time <br />dispatcher Dustin Starnes taMng her place. <br /> <br /> Charles Berwick congratulated Tim and completing the F.B.I.
