MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF METROPOLITAN POLICE <br /> COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br /> MAY 23m), 2002 <br /> <br />Dr. Knierim welcomed everyone to the May 23rd Mooresville Police Commissioners <br />Meeting, In attendance were; Dr. Knierim, Chuck Berwick, Dean Kays, Chief Viles, <br />Attorney Tim Currens, and Sgt. John Forbes. <br /> <br />Minutes were approved from the April 18~ meeting. <br /> <br />Sgt. Forbes presented Chief Viles with a certificate of appreciation from the <br />,Department of Defense. He thanked the Chief and the Commissioners for their <br />support. Sgt. Forbes will return to work on 6/8/2002. July 1st he will be going to <br />Bosnia for an unknown period of time. <br /> <br />There was no Old Business. <br /> <br />S.O.P.'s <br />9.05 Vehicle Towing Procedure approved <br />9.07 Towing & Recovery approved <br />9.09 Vehicle Inventory approved <br />9.10 Abondoned Vehicles approved <br /> <br />Next meeting the Commission will discuss the following S.O.P.'s <br />10.00, 14.09, 16.00, 16.01 <br /> <br />New Business <br />Money from the sale of the Police Cars will be used to pay off the car leases. <br />Dr. Knierim mentioned approaching the Town Council about hiring another <br />Officer. The grant money is there. <br /> <br /> Chief Viles would like to try to get a few more cameras by September or November <br /> at the latest. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Kays mentioned that job descriptions need to be discussed, reviewed <br /> and updated if needed at another meeting. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Kays motioned to adjourn. Commissioner Berwick seconded. <br /> Next meeting 6/20/2002. <br /> <br /> <br />
