We consider the Five Points, Madison Township, SR144 area to be
primarily residential and still growing in that respect. It is upsetting
to hear someone tell the Mooresville Plan Commission and Town
Cotmcil that this area is trending to be, and is destined for,
business. It was also stated that the area is becoming less
residential. This is tmtme. There are scores of nice middle and
upper-class homes in this area, and more are being constructed
each year.

The property Mr. Holloway is wanting rezoned is not only
surrounded by residential homes, and families just like yours, but
directly adjoins The Five Points Babtist Church and Parsonage and
the future home of the Mt. Gilead Church of Christ. Both of these
church's were represented at the June 25 heating, and spoke in
opposition to the rezoning.

(definition of"B-2 Local Business")
"The Local Business zoning district is designed and located in
areas adjoining residential neighborhoods to accommodate the
primary needs of that locality. This district should place
convenience and necessity_ facilities close to consumers in limited

The Five Points neighborhood is not a "limited area", as we are
only minutes away from anything we Could possibly consider
convenient or necessary. The request for rezoning properties to
business should be justified by the benefit it provides for fulfilling
the primary needs of the locality. The requesting parties in this
case have not been willing to share with the Plan Commission or
thfi neighborhood as to what they intend to do with the property
and how it will benefit the residential community.

We ask that you uphold the Plan Commission's decision that this
request should, and for good reason, be denied.
