MOORESVILLE REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES <br /> THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2004 <br /> <br />The Mooresville Redevelopment Commission met on Thursday, November 4, 2004, at 7:00 <br />A.M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br />Commission members present were: Brian Nelson, Chairman, Jim Ellis, Jim Ransome, and Mike <br />Haskins. Attorney Tim Currens was present. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Ransome, second by Commissioner Haskins, to approve <br />the minutes of minutes of October 6, 2004. Motion carded 4-0. <br />Next on the agenda was Helen Humes to present the proposal for Electronics Manufacturing <br />Solutions. She asked Rick James to introduce his two partners in the firm and he introduced Bill <br />Baldwin, President and Tony Burnett. The estimate for relocating EMS to Mooresville will be <br />approximately $35,238.00 to move and install the equipment. She stated this was the type of <br />small business we would like to have in our area. EMS will have approximately thirty-five <br /> employees when their new equipment is installed. She asked Mr. Nelson to present the <br /> proposals A and B the Commission had to offer. <br /> <br /> A. The Redevelopment Commission will offer to pay $20,000.00 on the moving and <br /> installation cost based on a five-year lease and the employment of 21 employees <br /> going up to 35 employees in two years. <br /> <br /> B. The Redevelopment Commission will offer to pay $30,000.00 on the moving and <br /> installation cost based on a seven-year lease and the employment of 21 employees <br /> going to 35 employees in two years. <br /> Mr. Ellis asked what the average salary was during their heaviest production season. Mr. James <br /> stated their average salary was between $25,000.00 to $30,000.00 a year. Ms. Humes said the <br /> annual salaries for 21 employees was $825,000.00 and with the additional 14 employees it is <br /> estimated their annual salaries will add $550,000.00. Mr. Nelson asked what kind of training <br /> was required? Mr. James said for proper training they need to be certified. Ms. Humes said <br /> they are illegible for employee training funds through the Indiana Department of Commerce and <br /> the Department of Workforce Development. <br /> Motion was made by Commissioner Ellis, second by Commissioner Ransome, the Mooresville <br /> Redevelopment Commission accepted the option to provide $20,000.00 for the relocation of <br /> Electronic Manufacturing Solutions to Mooresville upon their signing a five year lease and <br /> maintaining up to 35 employees and with the option of providing $30,000.00 for relocation with <br /> the signing of a seven year lease and maintaining 35 employees. Motion carded 4-0. <br /> Next was the Prodigy Group, which is located in TIF 1, and exciting opportunity for the <br /> company and the community at large.
