118 <br /> <br /> May 21, 1991 <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Council was held Tuesday, <br /> May 21, 1991 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Council members present were Steve Edwards, Pat Overholser, Jack Forbes <br /> and Steve Ballard. Councilman Dick Heald was absent. <br /> <br /> In the absence of Council President Heald Vice President Ballard chaired <br /> the meeting. <br /> The minutes of the previous meeting and the special meeting held May 14, 1991 tq <br /> were approved as submitted. <br /> <br /> Mr. Ray Hatmaker, 29 Victor Drive appeared before the Council requesting <br /> street lights on Victor Drive. Mr. Hatmaker also advised the Council that two <br /> property owners on Victor Drive are filling in a ditch and he is concerned that this <br /> may cause a drainage problem. Mr. Hatmaker then requested a street sign for <br /> Victor Drive. <br /> <br /> The Council will have the Street Superintendent Joe Beikman look into these <br /> requests. <br /> <br /> Mr. Darrell Swinney of Swinney Brothers advised the Council that they have <br /> purchased property on Landersdale Road which they are considering developing into <br /> a subdivision. They would like to be on the town sewer system and they will run <br /> the sewer lines and obtain all necessary easements for this project. Mr. Swinney <br /> advised the Council the subdivision will be supplied by Hill Water Co. There will <br /> be fire hydrants in the subdivision which a hose can be connected to, however, <br /> a fire pumper could not pump from the hydrants. The water from the hydrants could <br /> be accessed from a hose into a resevoir then used to fight a fire. The first phase <br /> of this project will be approximately 17 acres, the total development will be ap- <br /> proximately 58 acres. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilwoman Overholser and second by Councilman Edwards <br /> to approve Ordinance #15-1991 An Ordinance for Additional Appropriation for the <br /> Economic Development Co~mission in the amount of $1,000.00. Motion carried <br /> unanamously. <br /> <br /> The Council signed the sewer dedication for Springmill Apartments which had <br /> been approved at the May 7, 1991 meeting. <br /> <br /> Economic Development Director Randy Haymaker reminded the Council of the <br /> joint meeting to be held Tuesday, May 28, 1991 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall with the <br /> Town Council and the Redevelopment Co~mission. <br /> <br /> Councilman Jack Forbes announced the swinm~ing pool at Pioneer Park will be <br /> open Saturday, Sunday and Monday, May 25, 26 and 27, 1991 from noon until 8:00 p.m. <br /> The pool will be closed May 28 through May 30 and will re-open for the sur~ner <br /> May 31, 1991. <br /> <br /> The next meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be the joint meeting <br /> with the Redevelopment Con, mission Tuesday, May 28, 1991 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. <br /> <br /> Motion to pay the bills and claims was made by Councilman Edwards, second by <br /> Councilman Forbes.
