The following bids for sidewalk construction were opened: <br /> <br /> D. R. Childs Corp. $28,872.00 <br /> Kenneth Smock Company $ 31,000. O0 <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Ballard and second by Councilwoman <br /> Overholser to table awarding the sidewalk bids until the July 16, 1991 Town <br /> Council meeting. Motion carried unanamously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilwoman Overholser and second by Councilman Edwards <br /> to approve payment of H. J. Umbaugh and HNTB for services obtained for investi- <br /> gation of the water utility. These payments are to be paid from Food and <br /> Beverage Tax revenue. Motion carried unanamously. <br /> <br /> Mr. William Abbott, town engineer, advised the Council that the plan <br /> commission has not had a full board present for several months. Due to the <br /> importance of this board Mr. Abbott asked the town attorney if he could send <br /> a letter to members which are continually absent advising them of the importance <br /> of their attendance to the plan commission meetings and asking them if they <br /> plan on fulfilling their duties as appointees to the plan commission. The <br /> Town Attorney will take care of this correspondence. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Ballard and second by Councilwoman Overholser <br /> to approve swimming pool fill exemptions for Dennis and Hollie Collier, 443 <br /> Tulip Drive, Mooresville and Mark A. Classich, 71 Sweetwood Drive, Mooresville. <br /> Motion carried unanamously. <br /> <br /> The Council approved advertising the 1992 budget estimates as submitted. <br /> It was decided to raise the pay of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent <br /> and the Fire Chief to the same base pay as the Street Superintendent and Police <br /> Chief for 1992. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Edwards and second by Councilman Forbes to <br /> increase the base pay of town employees 2% of the average salary for 1992. <br /> Motion carried unanamously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Edwards and second by Councilman Forbes to <br /> approve the bills and claims. Motion carried unanamously. <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Council at this time <br /> Councilman Edwards made a motion to adjourn, Councilwoman Overholser second. <br /> Motion carried unanamously. <br /> <br /> The next regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be held <br /> Tuesday, July 16, 1991 at 7:30 p.m. at Town Hall. <br /> <br /> P[esident <br /> <br /> ATTEST: <br /> <br /> Clerk-Treasurer <br /> <br /> July 16, 1991 <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Council was held Tuesday, <br /> July 16, 1991 at the Mooresville Town Hall at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> Council members present were Pat Overholser, Steve Edwards, Jack Forbes <br />and Steve Ballard. Council President Dick Heald was absent. In the absence <br />of President Heald, Vice-President Ballard chaired the meeting. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mark Peden appeared before the Council representing Darrell Swinney <br />in regard to Mr. Swinney's proposed 17 acre subdivision being allowed to brook- <br />on to the municipal sewer system. Chairman Ballard polled the Council in regard to <br />this matter. The Council unanamously agreed to allow Mr. Swinney s~wer access for the <br />proposed subdivision. <br /> <br /> Mr. Gordon Gamble, 565 Arlington Drive appeared before the Council to sub-- <br />mit a claim for sewer damange to his home which occurred December 30, 19~0. <br /> <br /> <br />
