Town attorney Tim Currens advised the Council that Eastern <br /> Morgan County Rural Water Company will be appearing before the Public <br /> Service Regulatory Commission to have their water lines run into <br /> the Town of Mooresville buffer zone. Mr. Currens advised the <br /> Council that the problem with this is that this water company will <br /> be running four inch lines and it will not be possible to provide <br /> fire protection with this size of water lines. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Edwards and second by Councilwoman <br /> Overholser for the Town to intervene with the Public Service Commission <br /> to advise them that the Town does not want Eastern Morgan County <br /> Rural Water Company to run four inch water lines in the Town's q <br /> buffer zone. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Heald and second by Councilman <br /> Edwards to approve Town attorney Tim Currens contract for 1993 <br /> for $95.00 per hour. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Animal Control Officer Mark Taylor reported he has received <br /> nineteen (19) calls, nine (9) animals were impounded and one (1) <br /> returned to owner. ' <br /> <br /> The Council will meet in Executive Session Tuesday, December 15, <br /> 1992 at 6:30 p.m. at the Mooresville Town Hall to discuss Court <br /> personnel. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Viles and second by Councilwoman <br /> Overholser to approve the bills and claims. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Fire Chief Darrell Brown appeared before the Council to advise <br /> the Council of the need for new fire equipment. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Heald and second by Councilwoman <br /> Overholser to advertise for bids for a lease/purchase of a new <br /> fire engine. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> The Council reviewed the salaries of all town employees in I] <br /> preparation for setting the 1993 salary ordinance. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Heald and second by Councilwoman <br /> Overholser to increase the Clerk-Treasurer's salary $1,500 from <br /> the General Fund and $1,500 from the sewer fund. Motion carried unani- <br /> mously. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Heald and second by Councilwoman <br /> Overholser to increase each employees pay $228.00. $456.00 <br /> will be invested in the PEBSCO Deferred Compensation plan as an employee <br /> benefit. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Council at <br /> this time motion to adjourn was made by Councilman Edwards, second <br />'by Councilman Heald.
