Councilman Mathis discussed with the Council the idea of <br />adding sidewalks on Indianapolis Road from Old State Road 67 <br />N. to Sweetwood Drive. Joe Beikman stated the we do have <br />the easements for this project. Councilman Hensley made the <br />motion to install the sidewalks while Councilman Wright <br />second the motions. Motion was unanimous. <br /> <br /> Acting Waste Water Treatment Plant Supervisor Daniel <br />Tingle, Jr. advised the Council of a quote to upgrade his <br />present lift station alarm system at the plant. Daniel <br />requested permission to pursue this issue. Councilman Pygman <br />made the motion to upgrade the system while Councilman Wright <br />second. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> Town Engineer Bill Abbott reported that the Plan <br />Commission is still working on the updating the ordinances <br />and the comprehensive plan and looking over the different <br />possibilities on the buffer zone. Councilman Mathis <br />requested a copy of their draft to examine. <br /> <br /> Animal Control officer Mark Taylor reported twenty-seven <br />(27) calls and complaints, seven (7) animal impounded and <br />five (5) returned to their owners. <br /> <br /> Park Superintendent Brent Callahan reported the Park was <br />now accepting swim lesson registrations. Some of the Park <br />Boards Members would be attending a workshop in Indianapolis. <br />Construction on the 28' gazebo to be located at the front of <br />the park was starting. Also construction of an amphitheater <br />would start soon. They ordered a new mover and looking for <br />the purchase of a trailer. He also discussed the attendance <br />of the pool and the attendance deviation concerned the 5 and <br />under children <br /> <br /> Councilman Mathis reported that we did receive our <br />additional appropriation from the State Board of Accounts for <br />the purchase of 104 W. Main Street and looked to close in 5- <br />6 days. <br /> <br /> Town Judge Paul Sterrett reported that he had nothing on <br />the court to report, but invited everyone to attend a <br />community day at Garfield Park, July 19 to observe how this <br />works so that we may set up a similar day for Mooresville. <br /> <br /> Attorney Tim Currens presented the Senior Citizens <br />Contract to be signed by the members giving the Senior <br />Citizens $5000.00. Councilman Jim Hensley suggested giving <br />the proceeds of the Town auction to be divided equally <br />between the Senior Citizens Center and a youth activity or <br />center for the youth of Mooresville. Councilman Hensley <br />stated that this would not be a yearly contribution and that <br />we would need lists from the different departments would be <br />needed. Motion was made by Councilman Hensley to divide the <br />proceeds of the town auction between the Senior Citizens <br />Center and a yet to be named youth program or center, second <br />by Councilman Dolen. Motion passed unanimous. <br /> <br /> Cemetery Sexton Ed Bucker stated that we needed to <br />advertise for the bidding of the cemetery mowing. Also Mr. <br />Misner submitted his grave digging contract unsigned stating <br />he had decided not to renew it at this time. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Town <br />Councilman ~ to approve ~h~ bills, Motion carried <br />unanimously. ~-~,~__ '/J~/~?.j~ <br /> There being no further business for the Mooresville Town <br />Council at this time, motion was made by Councilman Hensley, <br />second by Councilman Dolen, to adjourn.
