Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Pygman to approve thc <br />Transfer of $12,000.00 from GFD 01-04-441.00 Lease payments to GFD 01-04-243 Protective <br />Clothing to cover the cost of purchasing and repairing self-contained breathing masks. Motion <br />carried 5-0. <br />' <br />E~DC_Diree~0r Harold Gutzwiller reported the South Central REMC had donated $799,99 to the <br />EDC department for the purchase ora printer. Also, the advertising for bids on Brookmore has <br />been completed. The bids are due in before 5:00 P. M. on July 23, 1998. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Dolen to accept the $500,000 <br />grant for the Brookmore Project. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Hensley, second by Councilman Dolen to approve the <br />personal property Tax Abatement for Woods Industries because they have reached 95% of <br />compliance. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />Donald Perry, Vice President of the Mooresville Church of God, appeared before thc Council Io <br />request a sidewalk cut on East Main Street and to request the closing of an alley on the East side <br />of the Church. The Church has bought the DeWayne Marine property. Town Attorney Tim <br />Currens told him to file a petitiion to vacate the alley. <br /> <br />Animal Control Officer Mark Taylor reported forty(40) calls, twenty-three (23) impounded, and <br />five (5) returned. <br /> <br />The Dog Kennel bids were opened: <br /> <br /> Dean Construetion-Martinsville $45,847.00 <br /> Martin Construction-lndpls. 46,655.00 <br /> Top to Bottom-Mooresville 42,500.00 <br /> <br />Only $35,000 was appropriated for the Kennel, so Councilman Pygman suggested ali three bids <br />be turned down and ask for them to be resubmitted. The Plans will be gone over again to see if <br /> <br />there are changes that can be made to lower the cost. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Hensley to approve tile <br />Transfer of $45,000.00 from Fund 31-CDBG Planning Grant to Fund 11 Food & Beverage t° <br />document the fact monies had to be paid for the planning and design expenses for the <br />Brookmore Project before the Grant money was received. Motion carried 5-0, <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Hensley to approve the <br />payment of the claims. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />There being no further business to come before the Council at this time, a motion was made by <br />Councilman Dolen, second by Councilman Wright to adjourn.
