4.1 <br /> <br /> The regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Board of <br /> Trustees was held Tuesday, April 4, 1989 at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br /> Trustees present were Dick Heald, Steve Edwards, and <br /> Jack Forbes. Trustees absent were Mike Fiscus and Pat <br /> Overholser. <br /> <br /> The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as sub- <br /> mitted. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Forbes and second by Trustee <br /> Heald to approve the request of the V.F.W. to have May 13, 1989 <br /> as Poppy Day in Mooresville. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Cemetery Sexton Ed Bucker informed the Board that Earl <br /> Adams has resigned as the grave digger for the town. Ed <br /> Bucker recommended John Miser for the position. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Forbes and second by Trustee <br /> Heald to hire John Miser for the position of grave digger <br /> Motion carried. ' <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Heald and second by Trustee <br /> Forbes to raise the price of grave openings to $250.00 for <br /> adult graves, $75.00 for infant graves and $35.00 for cremation. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Board Attorney Tim Currens advised the board that the <br /> county is going to raise the county option tax to pay for the <br /> construction of the new jail. The county is asking all political <br /> subdivisions in Morgan County to waive their share of the <br /> increase to enable all the revenue from the increase to go <br /> toward the jail construction. <br /> <br />ii Motion was made by Trustee Forbes and second by Trustee <br /> ~ Heald to waive the Town of Mooresville's share of the county <br /> option tax increase to the county for funding the jail con- <br /> struction project. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Heald and second by Trustee <br /> Forbes to approve Ordinance #4-1989 Amending the 1989 Salary <br /> Ordinance to create the position of Building Custodian. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> <br /> Street Superintendent Joe Beikman advised the Board that <br /> he will be advertising for street paving bids in the near future. <br /> <br /> Acting Board President Trustee Edwards advised the Board <br /> that the Methodist Church had contacted the town asking for <br /> a new sidewalk mouth of the Methodist Church on Harrison Street. <br /> The Board will advise the church that if funds are available <br /> for sidewalks their request will be taken into consideration. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Trustee Heald and second by Trustee <br /> Forbes to pay the bills and claims. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the <br /> Mooresville Town Board at this time motion was made by Trustee <br />· Forbes to adjourn. Trustee Heald second.
