1125 <br /> January 21, 2014 <br /> The Mooresville'Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at <br /> 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br /> Town Council members present were: George Watkins, Mark Mathis, Virginia Perry, <br /> Tony Langley, and Jeff Cook. No members were absent. Town attorney Tim Currens <br /> was present <br /> Tom Lift, Community Church of Mooresville, gave the invocation. <br /> George Watkins thanked Mark Mathis, Legal Counsel, Clerk-Treasurer, and the rest of <br /> the council for all their help during his three years as President of the Town Council. <br /> Nominations were opened for President: George Watkins nominated Mark Mathis for <br /> President. Councilwoman Perry made a second to the nomination. The vote carried 5-0. 42/ <br /> Councilman Cook nominated Virginia Perry for Vice-President and Ss Vi chili <br /> seconded the motion. The vote carried 4-1 with Councilman Langley opposed. <br /> Brent Callahan, Park Superintendent, appeared before the council to request repairs for <br /> the pool not to exceed$29,000,replacement of a truck,the 1999 four wheel drive used <br /> for garbage pick up with another from Bloomington Ford for a QPA price of$26,689.25 <br /> and lift gate installed on a 2008 pick up for$2,392.00. A motion was made by <br /> Councilman Watkins with a second by Councilman Langley to approve paid out of Park <br /> Non-Reverting Capital Fund. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Recycling Quotes: a discussion was held on recycling bins for the Town and the cost. <br /> Leonard Huffman from Morgan County Solid Waste District stated they had one at <br /> Brooklyn that cost$650.000 a month and the bin at Martinsville cost$3,250 and was <br /> emptied three times a month. Councilwoman Perry made a motion to table this item until <br /> after March 6th when the Morgan County Solid Waste District meets to discuss this item. <br /> Councilman Watkins with a second by Councilwoman Perry motioned to approve the <br /> Morgan County Economic Development Corp. contract for 2014. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Appointments: A motion was made by Councilman Cook with a second by Councilman <br /> Langley to approve George Watkins and Harold Gutzwiller to the Redevelopment <br /> Commission for another term. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Presidential Appointments: Council.President Mathis appointed Tim Colman,Don <br /> Stultz, and Bill.Boyd to remain on the Redevelopment Commission. <br />
