Board of Zoning Appeals Minutes <br />Thursday July 12t", 2018 <br />Members Present: Perry King, Neal Allman, Charles McGuire, Mike Young <br />and attorney Mel Daniel <br />Neal Allman called the meeting to order then requested a motion on the <br />previous minutes, Perry King made a motion to accept the minutes as presented, <br />Charles McGuire seconded the motion and the minutes were accepted 4-0. <br />First item on the agenda is the continued variance request at 50 Tei7ace Trail. <br />Homeowner Robert Sisk is requesting the operation of firearms restoration <br />business in his residential garage. Mr. Sisk presented the updated <br />documentation on the notices he sent to his surrounding neighbors. Perry King <br />questioned the type of restorations he does and the chemicals needed and the <br />requirements to obtain an FFL retail license. Neal Allman asked if Mr. Sisk <br />would be open to an approval with restrictions. Mike Young expressed concern <br />for a firearms restoration and sales in a residential area. Charles McGuire <br />questioned if correct notification had been completed this time. Mr. Sisk <br />explained how he'd gotten into this business, the environmentally friendly <br />chemicals he uses on 1800's style guns he typically restores. He also explained <br />that he generally only sells online or to other licensed dealers, foot traffic at his <br />home is minimal. The Board Members spoke with Mel Daniel regarding proper <br />notification requirements, Mr. Daniel explained the board could not go forward <br />as these requirements had not again been met. Mr. Sisk requested an additional <br />continuance, which the board voted unanimously to approve. <br />During new business Perry King informed the board that the Plan Commission <br />has recently presented the final draft of the new Ordinance Book for review. <br />When no further business was presented Mike Young made a motion to adjourn <br />Charles McGuire seconded the motion and the motion passed. <br />
