Board of Zoning Appeals Minutes
Thursday October 11, 2018
Members Present: Mike Young, Perry King, Charles McGuire and attorney Mel
Daniel. Neal Allman was absent.
Mike Young called the meeting to order and requested a motion on the previous
minutes; Charles McGuire made a motion to accept the minutes as presented, Petry
King seconded the motion and the motion passed.
First item on the agenda is a variance request at 57 W High St made by Ronald and
Rhonda Hawkins. The request is to allow an existing outbuilding on their property
to be used as a residence for a special needs family member. The property owners
would only be making some internal cosmetic changes to the building, such as
cabinetry. The outbuilding has its own metered electric, water and sewer. Mike
Young called for questions; the board discussed the use of a 57 W High B address,
a neighbor was concerned that it could become rental property in the future, as was
Mike Young. Attorney Mel Daniel stated the variance could be approved with the
stipulation that only Rhonda Hawkins brother; Mr. Tracy ever be allowed to
occupy the residence. When no further questions were asked Perry King made the
motion to accept the variance with the occupation stipulation, Charles McGuire
seconded the motion and the motion passed.
When no new business was presented Perry King made the motion to adjourn,
Charles McGuire seconded jt and the motion passed.
Mike Young
