EMN <br />May 4, 2021 <br />The Mooresville Town Council met in a regular session on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at 6:30 P. M. <br />at the Mooresville Government Center. <br />Council members present were Council President Tom Warthen, Councilman Dustin Stanley, <br />Councilman Shane Williams, Councilman Jeff Cook, and Councilman Greg Swinney. Town <br />attorney Beth Copeland was present. <br />Council President Warthen gave the prayer. <br />Councilman Warthen requested that the Rezones of County Line Rd and Hadley Rd be granted a <br />continuance per a request from Banning Engineering. Councilman Williams stated he was ready <br />to vote on the rezoning of Hadley Rd tonight. Councilman Stanley made a motion to grant the <br />continuance on both locations. Councilman Swinney Seconded the motion. Motion Passed 5-0 <br />A motion was made by Councilman Stanley to approve the minutes of the April 20, 2021 <br />meeting and seconded by Councilman Swinney. Motion Carried 5-0 <br />Unfinished Business— <br />Endeavor Quotes - Rescheduled for May 18, 2021 meeting. <br />Board of Zoning Appeals Appointment - Council President Warthen appointed Jennifer Meador <br />to the BZA. This is an executive appointment that will expire on December 31, 2022. <br />1st and 2nd Amendment Sanctuary Town - There was a lengthy discussion between the council <br />about the implications and possible ramifications of the resolutions. According to attorney <br />Copeland, these declarations will not tie the hands of the police department. Councilman <br />Williams made a motion to support Resolution 15-2021 and Resolution 16-2021 as one motion. <br />Councilman Cook seconded. Motion carried 4-1 Councilman Swinney opposed. <br />Main Street America —The representative was not in attendance. <br />New Business — <br />Dylan Jahnke Sewer Hook -on 2303 E Crosby Rd - Mr. Jahnke presented himself before the <br />council to request permission to hook on to the town sewer system. He was made aware of his <br />responsibility for expenditures and all ramifications entailed within. Mr. Jahnke agreed to sign <br />the annexation waiver. Councilman Stanley made a motion to allow the hook -on to take place. <br />Councilman Cook seconded. Motion Carried 5-0 <br />Rezone Old State Road 67 & Sycamore Ln'- The representative was not in attendance. <br />CF -1 Cornerstone MOB LLC- Councilman Stanley made the motion to find Cornerstone MOB <br />LLC in substantial compliance. Councilman Swinney seconded. Motion Carried 5-0 <br />First reading of the Police Reserve Program Ordinance 7-2021 Chief Julian discussed the <br />changes and simplification of the Police Reserve Program Ordinance. The police commission <br />attorney has reviewed this ordinance. <br />
