May 18, 2021 <br />The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at 6:30 P. M. at <br />the Mooresville Government Center. <br />Council members present were Council President Tom Warthen, Councilman Dustin Stanley, <br />Councilman Shane Williams, Councilman Jeff Cook, and Councilman Greg Swinney. Town <br />attorney Cho-il Lee was present. <br />Councilman Warthen gave the prayer. <br />Councilman Stanley motioned to approve the May 4, 2021 meeting minutes and seconded by <br />Councilman Swinney. Motion Carried 5-0 <br />Unfinished Business — <br />IT Barracuda —Steve Eltzroth presented the annual renewal for the software and hardware <br />maintenance for the Barracuda backup system to continue to run. Councilman Williams made a <br />motion to approve the Barracuda $27,016.92 contract. Councilman Cook seconded. Motion <br />carried 5-0 <br />Endeavor Quotes for Request - Access point quote was $5,629.76 to set up four access points to <br />boost the current internet service. Due to the devices currently in place being past their <br />lifespan, these items need an upgrade. Councilman Williams made a motion to approve the <br />purchase of the upgraded equipment from Endeavor. Councilman Swinney Seconded. Motion <br />carried 5-0 <br />Algo call box - This is for the call box at the fire station to mimic the one at the police <br />department that would ring the fire department and the communications center. Councilman <br />Williams made the motion to proceed with the purchase of the call box for $644.14. <br />Councilman Swinney seconded. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Installation of panic buttons for the town council chambers, public works department, and the <br />relocation of the panic button in the Clerk -Treasurer's office. Purchased equipment will be <br />$2,384.98. Councilman Swinney made the motion to accept the bid. Councilman Cook <br />seconded. Motion carried 5-0 <br />Councilman Cook made the motion to allocate the funds to purchase the equipment from the <br />CCD fund. Councilman Swinney seconded. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Rezone E Hadley Rd - Ross Holloway of Holloway Engineering presented the Hadley Road <br />request for a rezone from PUD -R to RIC. Multiple adjacent property owners spoke against the <br />rezone. The audience presented a signed petition and verbal objection. After much discussion, <br />a motion was made by Councilman Williams to deny the unfavorable recommendation from the <br />Plan Commission and seconded by Councilman Stanley. Motion carried 4-0-1. Councilman <br />Warthen opposed. <br />Councilman Stanley made the motion to approve Ordinance 10-2021, with Councilman Swinney <br />seconding. Motion carried 5-0 <br />
