May 1 2021 <br />The meeting called to order at 7:00 pm. Board members present were Mark Taylor, David Pearson, <br />Brian Wiser, Lynn Adams, Erin Bechtold, and Perry King. Supt. Brent Callahan. Asst. Supt. Kris Wilson, <br />Office Mgr. Stacy Freeman. Absent, Danny Shaw. <br />Minutes of April 12, 2021, approved as written. Motion made by David Pearson, seconded by Erin <br />Bechtold. Motion carried. <br />Board member Lynn Adams opened with the updates on the Storybook Trail. A ribbon -cutting is <br />scheduled for Wednesday, May 12. <br />President Brian Wiser asked the Board the adopted Resolution 1-20-21. Wiser read the <br />resolution. Motion to use pass the resolution as written. The motion was made by David Pearson, <br />seconded by Lynn Adams. Motion carried. <br />Supt. Callahan informed the Board that Cultural Rise Soccer signed the written contract. Board <br />Members were also asked to sign the contract. Mark Taylor made a motion to table the signing of the <br />agreement until he had time to read, seconded by David Pearson. Motion carried. <br />Supt. Callahan updated the Board on the asset inventory of the park. SBOA is requesting the <br />information; Supt. Callahan is working with a State Approved Asset Specialist. <br />President Brian Wiser and Supt. Callahan attended a Lions Club meeting with other local organizations <br />to discuss changes the Lions Club is looking to do at Old Settlers this year. They were also looking for <br />suggestions and input on what other organizations could help and events that could be added or <br />changed for the weekend. <br />Board member D. Pearson informed the Board of the passing of Steve Edwards. <br />Asst. Superintendent Wilson reports that the Dan Daily Bike Race in April was a successful event. The <br />request for the 2022 bike race will be presented at the January 2022 board meeting. <br />Asst. Supt. Wilson requested approval for the new employees of the 2021 summer season. The list is <br />provided in the pre -meeting notes. Motion to approve the list of 2021 Summer Employees. <br />Motion made by Erin Bechtold, seconded by Perry King. Motion carried. <br />Mooresville Family Aquatic Center and Zipline will open on May 22, 2021. Summer Camps will begin <br />May 24, 2021. The first Summer Concert will be Friday, May 21. All concerts will have at least two food <br />trucks, a winery, and a brewery option. <br />
