RAM <br />July 11, 2022 <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm at the Mooresville Public Library. In attendance, the board <br />members were Lynn Adams, Danny Shaw, Erin Bechtold, Matt Saner, Mark Taylor, and David Pearson. <br />Supt. Kris Wilson (via telephone), Asst. Supt. Keelan Simpson and Office Mgr. Stacy Freeman. Absent, <br />Brian Wiser. Guests include Greg Swinney. <br />Minutes of June 13, 2022, approved as presented. Motion made by David Pearson, seconded by Matt <br />Saner. Motion carried. <br />The meeting started with a discussion of the covered bridge. The covered bridge was reconstructed <br />on July 5 and opened to the public. Our maintenance staff will need one day to spray the exposed <br />OSB. There was a change order because the list of materials from the insurance adjuster was short for <br />12 sheets of roof decking and more shingles, and the carpenters had upgraded some of the fascia <br />boards and fly rafters. Even with the change order, we still came in at a total just under what insurance <br />paid. <br />Sunco has asked if they could put a sign on the covered bridge with their company name and the <br />date it was reconstructed. Park Board discussed. Motion to approve the Sunco Reconstructed sign to <br />hang on the bridge, Motion made by David Pearson, seconded by Danny Shaw. Motion carried. <br />Supt. Wilson updated the Board on the Mooresville Downtown Street Fair. The Park did not receive a <br />revised Special Event form as requested for the July 8 Street Fair. During the July 8 Street Fair, <br />Bicentennial Park was used for a beer garden without approval. Mooresville Park or the Town of <br />Mooresville did not receive an excise license for the beer garden used in the Bicentennial Park. The <br />event contact, Kim from Farmhouse Market, did not show up to Park Board to discuss the issues. Park <br />Board discussed the issues. Park Board is requesting a new application for the September Street Fair, <br />including a Certificate of Insurance. The application is needed at least eight weeks before the <br />September Street Fair. Board Member Saner asked to make a documented policy for failure to <br />comply. Board President Bechtold asked not to waive the Special Events Fee. Supt. Wilson will go to <br />the Town Council meeting and inform them of the issues. <br />The Office Renovation update windows are scheduled to be installed the week of July 18. New chairs <br />have arrived for the office, and we need to look at purchasing visitor chairs for the meeting area. Park <br />Board discussed whether to stay at the Library or Park Office for Park Board Meetings. Starting in <br />August, the Park Board meeting will be at the Park Office. <br />To be competitive in thejob market, RECU the wages will need to be increased. Supt. Wilson asked for <br />approval of the change to the salary ordinance passed for part-time employees. These positions have <br />revised job descriptions and responsibilities, and the pay rate is below: <br />RECU Leaders $12 - $14/hr. (AM shifts will be $14/hr.) <br />Site Coordinators $16/hr. <br />The rate change would take effect at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, including pre- <br />season training. Supt. Wilson will bring up all other pay increases in the October meeting for the 2023 <br />
