,34 <br />June 4, 2024 <br />The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. <br />at the Mooresville Government Center. <br />Council members present were: Council President Tom Warthen, Councilman Greg <br />Swinney, Councilman Jeff Cook, Councilman Josh Brown, and Councilman Kirk Witt. Town <br />Attorney Chou -it Lee was present. <br />Council President Warthen gave the invocation and called the meetingto order. - <br />Councilman Brown motioned to approve the minutes of May 21, 2024 meeting, seconded <br />by Councilman Witt. The motion carried 5-0. <br />Council President Warthen provided an update on the wastewater treatment plant, detailing <br />the ongoing steps to address the odor issue. An automated process is being developed to <br />streamline the operations. <br />Unfinished Business— <br />Mark Heirbrandt from Ameresco gave a presentation about the HVAC project that will <br />replace the HVAC systems for several town buildings. The project includes the government <br />center, town court/ fire administration building, street garage, and the WWTP. The police <br />department's HVAC system wilt be updated. The parks and recreation offices wilt not be <br />included in this proposal because of ongoing projects at the parks department that will <br />include a new HVAC system. <br />A utilization plan could involve moving the court and fire chief's office to the government <br />center after some renovations are done to utilize the available office space. The plan cost <br />would be approximately $75,000. The Town Attorney recommended granting the Council <br />President the authorityto execute the contract so the utilization project can start <br />The HVAC project cost is approximately $2,050,000. Town Attorney Lee has reviewed the <br />contract and has no objections to the legal form. <br />Councilman Swinney motioned to authorize the Council President to lead the project, <br />seconded by Councilman Brown, The motion carried 4-0-1. Councilman Cook opposed. <br />New Business — <br />The discussion for TOA and Creative Foam tax abatement compliance forms was postponed <br />to the next meeting on June 18`h, <br />Approval of Claims - <br />Councilman Swinney motioned to approve claims in the amount of $624,686.65. <br />Councilman Brown seconded. The motion carried 5-0. <br />Payroll Clearing - <br />Councilman Swinney moved to approve payroll clearing in the amount of $264,256.73. <br />
