<br />MINUTES OF THE MOORESVILLE PLAN COMMISSION <br />The Mooresvil1e Plan Commission met at its regular meeting <br />place, the Mooresvi11e Town Hall, May 27, 1988 at 7:30 P.M. <br />Present were board members William Abbott, Robert Tucker, Tilford <br />Bailey, ~ Barry, Warren Franklin, Signe Nicholson, and Chairman <br />Vern Kimmel. The Building Inspector Joe Beikman and the board's <br />attorney, Timothy C. Currens were also present. Chairman Kimmel <br /> <br />determined that a quorum was present and proceeded to approve the <br /> <br />minutes of the prior meeting. <br />The first item on the agenda under old business was the <br />unsafe building violation of Frank and Mary Lowry at One West Main <br />Street. The board's attorney withdrew from this discussion due to <br />a conflict of interest on this case. Mrs. Lowry was present and <br /> <br /> <br />advised the board that the roof was now completed and in the next <br /> <br /> <br />couple of weeks she expected the electricity be completed, <br /> <br /> <br />sandblasting, steel for starting the stairway and support beams <br /> <br /> <br />along with vinyl windows. She also advised that trash from inside <br /> <br /> <br />was being hauled away in the dumpster which was on the sidewalk. <br /> <br /> <br />Building Inspector Beikman advised that the work on the roof was <br /> <br /> <br />done and that the floor joist needed replaced. Mrs. Lowry <br /> <br /> <br />responded that the floor joist would be taken care of as soon as <br /> <br /> <br />the stairs in the front were placed. Mrs. Lowry asked if there <br /> <br /> <br />was anything else the board needed. Building Inspector Beikman <br /> <br /> <br />stated that he only wanted progress to continue without long stops <br /> <br /> <br />or any type of delay. William Abbott then made a motion that the <br /> <br /> <br />board grant the building inspector the authority to cease with his <br /> <br /> <br />pursuit of the court action for fines so long as the Lowrys <br />
