MOORESVILLE BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br /> MINUTES <br /> WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 19, 1998, 7 P. M. <br /> <br />The Mooresville Board of Zoning Appeals met in a regular scheduled meeting on Wednesday, <br />August 19, 1998, at 7:00 P. M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br />Members present were: President Alan Kramer, Secretary Vem Kimmel, Don Barry, Brent <br />Plunkett, and Mike Young. No members were absent. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Don Barry, second by Brent Plunkett to approve the minutes of the July <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Ross Holloway of Holloway & Assoc. presented the Variance for Arby's signs. They need 260 <br />square footage of signage. Motion was made by Mike Young, second by Vem Kimmel to <br />approve the sign variance. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />Ross Holloway next requested variances for R J Associates of Ashbmy Park located on Highway <br />144. Ed Bucker, owner of adjacent property complained of storage buildings being put on his <br />property and the treatment plant. He stated inspections from the State the last four years on the <br />treatmem ptanthad failed. Floyd Kayes complained of~e trash in the grass and can hardly <br />mow. Barb Dawson voiced concern for the treatment plant and traffic. <br /> 1. Variance for Lot size from 7000 sq. ft. to 5300 sq. It. Motion was made by Don <br />Barry, second by Brent Plunkett to grant lot size variance. Motion carried 4-0. Mike Young <br />opposed <br /> 2. Variance for "no" sidewalks. Motion was made by Mike Young, second by Veto <br />Kimmel to reject variance for no sidewalks. Motion carried 4-1. Don Barry opposed. <br /> <br /> 3. Variance for Set Back from Park perimeter down to 20 feet. Motion was made by <br />Don Barry, second by Brent Plunkett to grant modification to variance, 20 feet set back for lots <br />1-7 and keep 25 feet for lots 9-14. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> 4. Variance for distance between trailers on opposite sides of Street from 60 feet to <br />40 feet. Motion was made by Don Barry to grant wariance bm:no second to the motion was <br />forthcoming. Motion died. Motion was made by Mike Young, second by Veto Kimmel to reject <br />the variance. Motion carried 4-1. Don Barry opposed. <br /> <br /> 5. Variance for Cul-de-sac to reduce from 80 ft. in diameter to 76 feet. Motion was <br />made by Don Bar~y, second by Veto Kimmel to grant the request for the variance. Motion <br />carried 5-0. <br /> <br /> 6. Variance for Length of Dead End Streets to 550 feet. Motion was made by Don <br />Barry, second by Vern Kimmel to grant variance for change of length of dead end streets to 550 <br />feet. Motion carried 4-0. One abstention by Vern Kimmel. <br /> <br /> <br />
