MINUTES OF THE MOORESVILLE PLAN COMMISSION - October 24, 1985

The Mooresville Plan Commission met at its regularly scheduled meeting on

October 24, 1985 at the Mooresville Town Hall. Present were Board Members Tilford

Bailey, Wendell Thaler, Ron Alexander, Steve Edwards, Vernon Kimmel, and Helen

Knight. Building Inspector Joe Beikman was present and also the Board Attorney,

Timothy C. Currens. The meeting was called to order by the Vice-Chairman, Wendell

Thaler and it was determined that a quorum was present. The Board proceeded to the

approval of the minutes of the prior meeting. On motion duly made and seconded,

the minutes of the prior meeting were approved.

The Board then proceeded to old business, in particular, the Northridge

Subdivision of Mitchell Denney. ~r. Denney was present and addressed the Board as

to the water problems. In particular he felt the drainage problems were being

controlled by the catch basin. Building Inspector Beikman advised that the water

comes down and bypasses the large catch basin and goes across the road washing out

~. portions of Highway 267 and the area adjacent to it. Building Inspector Beikman

".

advised that an additional catch basin near the top of the road would help. Mr.

Denney advised that Arvin Hopkins had put the original catch basin in and thought

that an addition of asphalt to steer the water into this catch basin might help.

He also said that he would agree to put one up towards the top of the hill and

to alter the catch basin at the bottom to help cure the problem. Mr. Denney

advised that the water standing in the intersection was still a problem which he

did not know how to cure. Lastly, he explained that if the Board would write

out what they wanted done he would make sure that it was accomplished.

After a brief discussion the Board requested that Building Inspector

Beikman and Hr. Denney and the Attorney meet to set out what the problems are and
to get this accomplished. They thanked Mr. Denney for coming to the meeting and
the parties agreed to try to get together early in the following week.

.~.
