<br />MINUTES OF MEETING OF MOORESVIIJ.E P~ COMMISSION <br /> <br />Oc t. 13, 1969 <br />7:30 PM <br />Municipal Bldg. <br /> <br />Members Present: Dale Heshe1man, John Crose, Marlow Fu1k, Winston Tackitt, <br />Chairman George WD~land, Pete Robinson and Fred Corey, town attorney. <br /> <br />Minutes of the Sept. meeting were read and accepted after a motion by Marlow <br />Fu1k and seconded by Dale Heshe1man. <br /> <br />Pete Robinson was to check on the the items mentioned at the Sept. meeting that <br />Dave Loudermilk was supposed to check on but didn't due to his resigning fuam plan <br />Commission,as building inspector. <br /> <br />A short discussion followed pertaining to the 8 acres being proposed for <br />re-zoning from 1A to 1C on the Kay's Tract. It was then moved by Winston Tackitt and <br />seconded by Marlow Fu1k that the commission vote on the proposa1.&'fhis was carried. <br />There was two votes for, one against, and two sustained from voting. Then chairman <br />Worland voted for the proposal to break the vote. The property was re-zoned but <br />a building permit will have to be obtained. <br /> <br />M4Corey made a brief statement concerning the recently appointed Advisory <br />Board that was appointed by the town board. He stated this was an advisory only type <br />board primarily to giVe suggestions and reccommendations on building, zoning, etc. <br />and that the members were appointed on their ability and not on being residence in <br />the town proper. <br /> <br />At 8:00 PM the hearing on the Templeton property now owned by John Moore was <br />opened. This proposal was for rezoning lots 10, 11 and 12 of block 16 of original <br />plot from 1A to 1C for purpose of building multiple dwelling appa~ets on the <br />propert~.~~s property is at the corner of Harrison St. and Clay St. <br />Mr.)Vfd\ey, Jr., Mr. Moore's attuuney stated his position. Mr. Moore is to build <br />2 units of 8 apartments each plus making 2 apartments in the existing house for a <br />total square footage of 6,384 sq. ft. This was to be SI approximat1ey $150,900 cost <br />on the total project with one unit being built at first and the second completed <br />within a 1 year time. <br />A neighbor, Mr. William Wright then sp01l;e for the neighbors that were pllllent <br />to protest the zoning change. He stated this would add to the safet~~~the children <br />now living in the surrounding area. He also pointed out about the in-adequate sewers <br />now existing in the town and also the addicions would create a noise problem, also. <br />Mr. Wright had a petition of protest signed by neighbors, property owners and other <br />residences in the adjacent area. <br />Mrs. Pence stated there was no guarantee of the type of clientele that would <br />live in these apartments in reference to the other unit built by Mr. Moore on West <br />Main near the Public Libaary. <br />Marjorie Wright asked about playing space for children for the proposed area <br />and Mr. Moore stated there would be approx. 38,400 total sq. ft. and that not more <br />than one or perhaps two children would be permitted for each apartment.K <br />After a short discussion it was moved by Winston Tackitt and seconded by Earl <br />Magenheimer that the Plan Commission take the proposal under advisement and votton <br />it at the next regular meeting, which would be on Nov. 10.
