<br />- <br /> <br />MOORESVILLE PLAN COMMISSION <br />MINUTES <br />THURSDAY JUNE 28, 2001 <br /> <br />The Mooresville Plan Commission met on Thursday June 28, 2001 at 7:Bo P. M. <br /> <br />Commission members present were Joel Beebe, Mike Young, John Ehrhart, Jim Bruner, Andy <br />Pygman, Tim Bennett, Chris Crouch, Robert Corbin, Robert Williamson. Town attorney Tim <br />Currens was also present. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Ehrhart to approve minutes for May 24,2001 with the date <br />for the next meeting being changed to June 28, 2001, the second came from Commissioner <br />Bruner. Motion carried 9-0. <br /> <br />Bill Barrett representing Cloverleaf Properties returned to the Commission asking for a rezone <br />from B-2 to B-3 at State Road 144 and Springmill Drive. Mr. Barrett said that the Casey' s Stores <br />have been in business for 30 years. Casey's hours are 6 A. M. to 11 P. M. with no sale of adult <br />films or magazines. The rezone would allow the sale of gas plus convenience store . <br />Commissioner Pygman feels the it would create a large traffic problem. Commissioner Crouch <br />stated the he had driven the area several times and does not feel that it would be a major concern <br />with the two entrances and turns lanes painted. Commissioner Crouch also said that the property <br />has been setting empty for over 20 years and he feels that the Casey's win be an asset to <br />Mooresville for tax revenue and a convenience for the residents east of State Road 67. Motion ~ e,.,...,....;, ,.s.,....... <br />to recommen~ the rezone to B-3 for the sale ~f ~oline and ~ejaiLi~J1J.-!?* lti.I!H.\itj~ 0 ~~ '14 . <br />the 3 lanes Wlth an east and west turn lane bemg mstalled, 'Uc'óndDý c;ómnusslonérYõ'ung. <br />Motion carried 8-1 with Commissioner Pygman voting no. <br /> <br />Ross Hol1oway from Holloway and Associates come to the commission for Jerry Smith asking <br />for a 2 lot Minor Plat of Greencastle Road. Mr Holloway showed the commission a vicinity map <br />showing just where the plats are located. Lot A has an existing house and lot B has a existing <br />barn on it. There will not be a new drive way added. Commissioner Crouch asked how wide is <br />the existing drive way, Mr. Holloway said that it was 12 feet wide. Motion was made by <br />Commissioner Young, second by Commissioner Bruner, to approve the minor plat. Motion <br />carried 9-0 with none opposed. <br /> <br />Ross Hol1oway asked for a consultation for Pat Dugger of Three Point Lake, concerning <br />additions and changes of use. Mrs. Dugger asked about putting dwellings on the lake, <br />considering manufactured housing. Commissioner Crouch asked how many acres were at the <br />lake. Mr. Holloway said between 50 and 60 acres would be redone with maybe I acre lots. The <br />commission discussed the availability of water and sewer. Mr. Hol1oway said that they were <br />looking into Hill Water and building a sewer plant of their own. It was also discussed about <br />upgrading the entrance to the area. Mrs. Dugger will return at a later date when it has been <br />decided what they wil1 be asking for. <br />
