MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF METROPOLITAN POLICE <br /> COMMISSIONERS MEETING <br /> FEBRUARY 2, 2004 <br /> <br /> The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. In attendance were <br /> Commissioners; Dr. Knierim, Chuck Berwick, and Dean Kays. Also, Chief Viles, <br /> Captain Allen and Chad Richart. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Kays recommended Dr. Knierim for 2004 Police Commission President. <br /> Commissioner Berwick seconded. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Berwick motioned to approve the minutes form the last meeting. <br /> Commissioner Kays seconded. <br /> <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br />The hiring process was discussed. One of the candidates, Tony Todesco, accepted <br />another position for the Warwick Co. Sheriff's Department. Commissioner Kays <br />recommended Ryan Crist for the #1 candidate and Chad Richart for the second position. <br />Commissioner Berwick seconded. The physicals are scheduled for February 19, 2004. <br />The official hire date will be March 8, 2004. The swearing in will be March 5th, 2004 at <br />the Mooresville Police Department. Employment is contingent on the mental and <br />physical evaluation and the 77 Pension Board approval. <br /> <br />Lt. Forbes will be eligible to return to work on 3/22/2004. However, he would like to take <br />some vacation time fn'st. <br /> <br />Next meeting will be 3/18/2004 at 7pm. <br /> <br />Commissioner Berwick motioned to adjoum.
